Kongsberg Automotive wins contract worth EUR 30.7 million in estimated lifetime revenue

Kongsberg Automotive (KA)'s Powertrain & Chassis Driveline business unit has
secured a contract for passenger cars worth EUR 30.7 million in estimated
lifetime revenue and average annual revenue of EUR 6.1 million.

Driveline was awarded this five-year contract by one of the largest Original
Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in China for KA's shift-by-wire system. The
system consists of an electric rotary actuator and a lever-type shifter. The
electric rotary actuator is used to change drive modes on the transmission as
park (P) and drive (D). The shifter helps the driver to achieve the correct
driving mode, for example, park (P), drive (D), neutral (N), and reverse gear
(R).

KA's Wuxi plant in China will produce and supply the product from April 2023.

"We are proud that our global product strategy is paying off and that this
contract supports our growth path in the Chinese market with locally developed
products," says Dr. Christian Amsel, KA's Chief Technology Officer and interim
President of Powertrain & Chassis, adding, "The contract awarded by one of the
largest OEMs in China proves KA's powertrain expertise offering complete
solutions for shifters and actuator."

Operations

Revenue from continuing operations amounted to MEUR 246.0 in Q3 2022, MEUR 53.2 (+27.6%) higher than last year’s third quarter, including positive currency translation effects of MEUR 19.7 and delayed reimbursement for spot-buy costs in the first half of the year.
Adjusted EBIT amounted to MEUR 12.9, exceeding Q3 2021 by MEUR 4.8. Adjusted EBIT is still impacted by the high material and energy costs. Price increases to customers achieved in addition to one-time reimbursements are increasingly mitigating these negative effects. We have so far been able to successfully mitigate 84% of the increased costs with internal and external measures.
Lifetime revenues business wins in the third quarter 2022 amounted to MEUR 128.8 (MEUR 44.3 in annualized revenue).
On October 3, 2022, Kongsberg Automotive successfully completed the sale of a part of the Shawinigan operations (a part of the Off-Highway business unit) in Canada to BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products) through a subsidiary for an enterprise value of MCAD 136.0 (MEUR 104.0). Based on the initial purchase price proceeds, the gain after tax on this sale transaction amounts to MCAD 46.6 (MEUR 36.2) which is subsequently accounted for in Q4 2022.

https://www.finansavisen.no/nyheter/industri/2022/11/08/7956581/inntektshopp-for-kongsberg-automotive

Kongsberg Automotive opens a new sales office in Seoul, Korea

Zurich, November 30, 2022: Kongsberg Automotive (KA) has opened a new sales
office in Seoul, Korea. This new setup is in line with KA's overall growth-plan
and supports the company`s targets to modernize and innovate in terms of
competence and technology.

With the new office, KA will better secure the introduction of new product
technologies in both commercial and passenger vehicles segments in Korea. KA
established a plant in southern Korea in Yangsan in 2001. This new location
further north will contribute with shorter lead time to the market and
customers.

"A new sales office in Seoul is of strategic importance to KA and our new sales
organization as we move towards capturing a larger market-share in Korea," says
David Redfearn, Chief Sales Officer, "It will improve our customer intimacy and
help us deliver our ambitious growth plans in this important region."

Equipped with modern amenities in a bustling mobility hub in Seoul, the office
will bring the KA Korea team closer to the company's valued customers, create
new relationships, improve feedback, and reduce reaction time.

As KA finalizes the new setup in Seoul, KA Korea will seek new talent from
diverse professional backgrounds to expand its team.

Ny stor kontrakt.

Kongsberg Automotive increases sales towards the electric vehicle market

Zürich, December 14, 2022: Kongsberg Automotive's (KA) Powertrain & Chassis
business segment has secured a contract worth up to EUR 58.7 million in
estimated lifetime revenue, and an average annual revenue of EUR 11.7 to supply
an electric vehicle manufacturer with innovative shift-by-wire products.

"This important business win shows that our product strategy is valued by our
partners as we continue to embrace electrification in the automotive industry"
says Chief Sales Officer David Redfearn.

The contract awarded to KA by a global OEM is for use on an EV truck chassis
platform for a right-hand stalk with shift-by-wire and regenerative braking
functions, and a left-hand stalk with headlight, turn signal and wiper
functions.

The product is a new version of KA's ASIL B capable right-hand stalk shifter and
left-hand stalk selector. ASIL B level is the latest state-of-the-art technology
on functional safety following the regulation in ISO 26262, which requires a
level of redundant function in case of an electronic fault.

"We are excited to continue the growth of our shift-by-wire portfolio with a
global OEM in the truck industry. KA has developed a set of building block solutions that allows us to be nimble in the marketplace", adds Redfearn.
