Nordic’s nRF52 Series SoCs have received certification under the Alibaba IoT Ecosystem Partner program

The Alibaba IoT Ecosystem Partner program is built on support for the AliOS Things OS, enabling developers to reduce the time and cost of IoT application development

Nordic Semiconductor today announces that its nRF52 Series Bluetooth® Low Energy (Bluetooth LE) Systems-on-Chip (SoCs) have received certification under the Alibaba IoT Ecosystem Partner program. Established in 2018 by Hangzhou, China-based, Alibaba Cloud IoT, a business unit of e-commerce giant Alibaba’s subsidiary company Alibaba Cloud, the aim of the program is to drive and develop a stronger, more mature global IoT sector.

Announced at the Alibaba Group IoT Eco-Partners Conference in December, 23 semiconductor and module vendors including Nordic Semiconductor received certification, representing almost half of the global IoT chip market. To receive certification under the Alibaba IoT Ecosystem Partner program, partners are required to support the ‘AliOS Things Operating System’ and have AliOS Things certification.
