Our headquarters in Oslo is now seeking a skilled Accounting Controller to join our dynamic finance team. The position reports to the Head of Operational Accounting, Europe.
You will be responsible for overseeing the accounts of five Luxembourg companies, which are the parent and funding companies for Europe. As an Accounting Controller, you will be responsible for daily accounting tasks and reconciliations, ensuring that the accounts comply with PRA Group guidelines. The role also involves reporting tasks related to monthly, quarterly, and statutory reporting.
Responsibilities and tasks:
- post and process journal entries on a day-to-day basis
- assist with monthly/quarterly/yearly closings and annual tax returns
- update and perform reconciliations of accounts receivable and accounts payable
- manage bank payments and reconciliations
- review and process expense claims
- prepare balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports
- prepare variance analysis
- prepare cash forecasts
- update financial data from integrated systems, eg. Treasury system
- participate in other accounting projects
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- certified public accountant is a plus but not required
- 3-5 years of work experience in a similar role, from auditing or accounting firm
- good knowledge of Excel
- interest in IT systems (proactive to improve processes)
- fluent in English
