Gass prisen fortsetter oppover :
EU natural gas prices held at €176 per megawatt-hour on Wednesday, following a 22.7% surge to a record €180.27 in the previous session, amid reports that gas flows through the key Yamal-Europe pipeline were headed eastwards for the second day in a row, as European capitals face negative temperatures and alternative energy sources were scarce. Wind production in Germany stood around five-week lows and France, usually a net exporter of power, imported more electricity and burned fossil fuels to avoid power outages. Meanwhile, delays in the approval of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which some analysts expect to be operational no sooner than September 2022, and risks of supply cuts amid rising tensions in eastern Europe were also contributing to one of the most severe natural gas crises in Europe’s history. With imports running low and depleting inventories, investors are now fearing that the ongoing natural gas crunch could be extended into next winter.
