Under et møte i Moskva lørdag sa Putin at Russlands deltakelse i avtalen suspenderes. Det melder nyhetsbyrået Reuters og russiske medier.Beslutningen kom ikke som noen overraskelse etter at amerikanske myndigheter fredag varslet at de trekker seg fra avtalen. Den ble inngått mellom USA og Sovjetunionen i 1987.Avtalen forbyr landbaserte mellomdistanseraketter. At avtalen nå ser ut til å rakne, har skapt frykt for et nytt atomvåpenkappløp.
